Lecturer : Mrs. Aline Almandha
Today is 3rd day english course traning program in SEAMOLEC. Today schedule is start from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m., so that my chance for being late is more lower, let me say Alhamdulillah for that. Eventhough my eyes still sleepy because of worked on Mrs. Dina assignment last night, I need to get up, take a bath and get ready to class. Our class has been rearranged, and now our class is in first floor, room C. Today lecturer is Mrs. Aline Almandha. She begin with greetings and take a presence of us, because this is our first class with her. Then, she told us about video comprehension lesson. Video that should be watched by us was President Jokowi’s First Speech in APEC, November 2014. This is an interesting video she said, because this is Jokowi’s first time speech in international forum since he was inaugurated officially on October 2014, a month before this APEC event being held. When I see that video, I clearly see that Mr. President was nervous enough. Many times he pausing, indicating that he was choose his word carefully. And some times he make a mistake sentences, then hurried to correct his sentences later. Discussion was occurred whether he should be gave a speech in Bahasa (use some translator service) or in English. After I read some article, it is written in law that president are supposed to use Bahasa in their official speeches at both domestic and international levels. So, I think Mr. President better gave a speech in Bahasa and use some translator service, since this will gave him some confidence in gave a speech in front of country heads and CEOs around the world who attend APEC 2014.
